And back from Bristol, …over 1000 miles pedaling on a custom made trike….ARE YOU CRAZY???…. Maybe…. But…

I am Riding For Hope to raise awareness of the desperate need for research into the treatment and cures for childhood cancer, and to raise funds to promote that research.  As a cancer patient myself, I know first hand that dealing with cancer is a long and arduous process which all too often saps the will and crushes the hope of the patient. 

Fighting cancer and somehow surviving the treatments takes courage, faith, a great support system and especially HOPE.  Hope is what keeps you fighting day after day, week after week, and hopefully year after year.  It comes from knowing that the researchers are working diligently to find a treatment/cure. For many cancers, there is no known cure, and in many instances there is little research being done to find a cure.  I have witnessed personally the amazing strength and courage of many children with cancer.  The least we can do is encourage their HOPE by rallying together to help make the needed research happen.

One of the most respected and world renown institutions for its research into the treatment, prevention, and cure of children’s cancers, the hospital in Memphis treats almost 5000 children a year from all over the world.  Remarkably, at this hospital, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. It is truly an institution worthy of support!

I will pedal a specially made tricycle from Bristol, Tennessee, to St Jude Children’s  Hospital in Memphis and back to raise donations for children’s cancer research.  Health permitting, I will be able to complete this 1100 mile journey in about  26 days.
